3 Ways to Use Flexi Rods On Natural Hair – Straight, Twisted and Curly

Different Ways to Use Flexi Rods on Natural Hair

Flexi rods can be used on natural, curly hair so many different ways that I’ve fallen in love. I recently realized just how amazing flexi rods on natural hair is. I used it on my straight hair, flat twisted hair and an old curly twist out. I loved each style.

I’ve had my flexi rods almost as long as I’ve been natural (November 2009). Somehow I missed the “flexi rods are the bomb” memo. I used them all the time when my hair was relaxed but I’m now learning how amazing they are and used them three TOTALLY different ways. I fell in love with each style. Check them out below.

Flexi Rods on Natural Hair

Straight Hair
In February I used my flexi rods to jazz up my luscious straight tresses. The results were gorgeous and SO easy to achieve. I didn’t even have to add product. Check out my tutorial here.

Flexi Rods and Flat Twists

Twisted Hair
In March I attended a wedding and had NO idea what to do with my hair. I had seen my friend @candislisa do lots of flat twist/flexi rod sets and they always came out gorgeous. I decided to give it a try. I washed my hair and flat twisted it. Then I added the flexi rods at the ends. When I took it down the next morning I wasn’t impressed but as the day went on it got bigger and even more gorgeous.

Curly Hair
This year for INHMD and Spring is In the Hair I knew I wanted to try something different but I also knew on Friday night I WASN’T about that Wash Day life. I decided to rework my week-old twist out. I used the same parts from my twists as a guide and pulled out my Design Essentials setting spray. I wrapped the hair around the rods making sure that it was all clumped together the entire way down. It was so easy and came out great.

Do you use flexi rods? If so, what’s your go-to style? What products do you use?
