In light of recent events, I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. Today isn’t the typical #Fri5Luvs… After the heart wrenching Mike Brown verdict earlier this week, many Americans (myself included) are boycotting Black Friday. I think it’s important to take a stand but I also think it’s important to be peaceful when we protest and strategic in how we make an impact.
One great way is to make an economic impact. Many of us won’t be shopping at all but I think it’s still important to shop small businesses especially black and female owned. Below are a few shops and companies I love who have great Black Friday specials. Please check them and other small businesses out today and this weekend. Stay away from the large retailers and please remain peaceful.
Q-Redew is one of my favorite natural hair tools. This weekend they’re having a great sale. The earlier you use the code BLACKFRIDAY the more you’ll save! You can save as much as $20 so head to qredew.com. Below are some of my videos using the product so you can see HOW much I love it.
Aye Shanti Designs has some of the most gorgeous handmade jewelry and paper goods. I have been in love with Shanti’s designs for over a year; I have several journals and prints. Head to her shop for free shipping on everything. ayeshanti.com
Minted Sugar is an etsy shop from @nancybnieves. She makes the cutest planner accessories. Today she’s taking 40% off all items in her etsy shop. Head to the Minted Sugar etsy shop if you’re as in love with planners as I am. etsy.com/shop/mintedsugar
What black and female owned businesses will you be supporting this Black Friday and Cyber weekend?
