L’Oréal Paris Celebrity MUA Tips from Claudia

Loreal Paris Interview Claudia Betancur My favorite time of year is summer. It’s when I love experimenting with new looks and bold makeup colors. Fall is also a great time to experiment with so much fall fashion inspiration. This season I had the amazing opportunity to interview L’Oréal Paris Brand Ambassador and Celebrity Makeup Artist Claudia Betancur about this season’s trends and how she incorporates her favorite looks from the Cat Walk (NYFW) into an everyday wearable look for us “normal” girls. Below are Claudia’s key fall makeup tips, tricks and product recommendations.

L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Eye Shadow Quad Emerald Conquest How would you incorporate a bold color or metallics into an everyday wearable look? As beautiful as metallic or bold colors may appear, it may be too much to use every day or even for an evening out with your girlfriends. Although, there were many looks sported on the runway that can inspire your everyday/going to work look, you just need to make it appear more subtle. Earthy green tones might seem scary but can make a beautiful natural everyday wearable look. To do this, use the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Eye Shadow Quad in Emerald Conquest and apply the light shade over the entire lid with an angled brush apply the darker emerald shade to the crease to create a smokey yet earthy tone look. Green shadow brightens your eyes and is a look that never fails to amaze me.

L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur BlushThe bare minimum trend is definitely great for the office but how would you make it fun for a night out? I love a fresh, dewy complexion and you can easily pull it off as a light/bare minimum makeup trend by following these steps.

a) Use a serum to prime your face, try the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Golden Serum Treatment as it not only moisturizes but adds a smooth and velvety finish making it easier for foundation application.

b) Apply your desired foundation. I usually use my fingers and start with applying it at the cheeks and spreading it outwards.

c) Apply a cream blush such as the L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Blush. This blush allows you to apply a minimal amount and it does just the job of giving you natural, rosy cheeks. Use your fingers and dab it on the apples of your cheeks.

d) Apply a nude lip gloss & mascara. I’m currently obsessed with the L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara as it gives you the doll-like effect and spreads the hair lashes evenly.

L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist SculptorWhat is your number one technique for someone who doesn’t have full brows but wants to look like they do? For clients of mine with this problem, I like using a pencil vs. powder. L’Oréal Paris just came out with a new eye brow pencil that includes a brush, L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Sculptor. I first line out the eye brows at the bottom of the hairs, to form a shape. I pencil it in lightly and with the brush, brush them upwards spreading the color evenly and it’ll fill in the eye brows. Super easy and takes less than 5 minutes to do. Powders can get very messy and can be  bulky to bring in your makeup bag.L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Golden Serum Treatment Now that our summer tans are gone, what can we use to fake a natural glow? For your body, use a self-tanning lotion and make sure to exfoliate beforehand. Gels and creams are always easier versus sprays. For your face, start with face oil which helps your skin be more luminous than usual. I recommend using the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Glow Renewal Oil and use about 3-4 drops on your face. Use a highlighter stick with no shimmer and draw whiskers on  your cheeks , one line down the center of your nose and a small line underneath your brow bone, blending the highlighter so that I looks like a light naturally hit your face. FLOWER by Drew Barrymore carries some easy-to-use highlighter chubby sticks.

L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Glossy Balm CrayonWhat’s your personal favorite L’Oreal Paris lip shade for fall? For Fall I bounce back between a nude and burgundy lip to create a balance with my wardrobe. Right now, I currently love the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Glossy Balm Crayon in Petite Plum because it has a great silky feel and I can quickly re-apply throughout the day. I recommend it for my clients that live in the cold weather cities since the crayon fixes chapped lips and is very hydrating.

What three L’Oreal Paris products do you think every woman should keep in her purse? The three products that every woman should keep in her purse are L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara, L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Extraordinaire Liquid Lipcolour and L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation. These products are great for the woman who is on the run and can only keep a few things in her purse; she’ll be covered in all areas.

L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Miss Manga MascaraDo you find yourself rocking any of them? If so, which is your go-to? I like to keep my make-up simple so my go-to product is the Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara. The flexible wand gives my lashes a va-va-voom look! I tell my clients that mascara does leave a difference, always.

Which of the fall trends was your favorite? My favorite fall trend is the “Full Brows,” which is a huge trend right now but also a tricky one. The color needs to be just right, slightly lighter than your hair color for it too work. Your eye brows and lashes can do all of the talking, while leaving your face with very minimal makeup and you’ll still look super glam to go anywhere.

Thank you, Claudia, for a great interview and all of these wonderful tips. What’s your top fall makeup trick? What L’Oreal Paris item(s) are you loving? Please share below.
