Lots of Naturalistas swear by Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream and other Cantu products but I’ve NEVER tried anything from Cantu. A few months ago I was invited to Family Dollar Fabulous in NYC and Cantu was one of the partners. I was gifted some products at the event and met some of the amazing ladies on the Cantu Team. They were gracious enough to send me some additional items for my 5 Year Curliversary and the Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Conditioning Co-Wash for me to try. I’m not much of a co-wash girl but I gave this one a shot. Below are my thoughts.

Scent: Floral/sweet and pleasant.
Consistency: This co-wash is thick and creamy just how I like my conditioners. It’s so thick that it doesn’t run or move when you squeeze it into your hand which is nice because that makes application much easier – the product goes where you put it!
My Experience: I separated my embarrassingly filthy hair into 4 sections. When I applied the conditioner to the first section I rubbed it in and was surprised that there was a slight lather and some suds as I worked it in and rinsed it out. Other Co-Washes I’ve used don’t usually suds up. I cleansed all 4 sections (including my scalp) twice and followed it up with Tresemme Conditioner before detangling.
Pros: EveryTHANG! I’ll have to use this Co-Wash a few more times before I can label it a Holy Grail product. Ouidad Curl Co-Wash is my ALL TIME favorite but this one is a close drugstore runner-up. I love the way it performs, the price, the product claims and its delivery.
Cons: I wish it had more (ONLY) good-for-hair ingredients.
Final Thoughts: This is a really luxurious Co-Wash. I appreciate Cantu for sending it to me. I would definitely reach for this again.
Have you tried the Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Conditioning Co-Wash? Any other Cantu products? If so, what’s your favorite? Please leave me suggestions on what to try next.
