Last week I attended the NYC Pose n Post Symposium in NYC with Chrisette Michele as one of her Guest Vloggers. As soon as I got the invitation I started thinking about my hair and outfit (of course). I decided on a gorgeous dress sent to me by eshakti.com.
A few weeks ago I was contacted by eshakti.com to review a garment from their website. After searching through tons of dresses I chose the Amelia dress because I thought it would be a nice dress to wear to church on Easter. However, once I tried it on, I knew it would be perfect for the Pose n Post Symposium because it was very versatile and that I could dress it up or down. Choosing a dress on eshakti.com was really hard because they had so many different styles that I really liked. I was also impressed by the numerous color options for many of the dresses – especially the “simple” more versatile ones and the size range. They offer sizes 0 to 36 which I think is amazing!
Dress | I finally settled on the Amelia dress because I love how fit and flare compliments my figure and it’s so versatile. I was really tempted to pick a bright, fun ”Easter” color like the baby blue or lilac but I knew I wouldn’t get as much wear out of it so I decided on the Navy. This style (sleeveless) allows me to wear it now but the color allows me to also wear it during the fall and winter with an added sleeve like a cardigan or jacket over it. I also really like the quality of the dress, it’s very well made and I know I will have it as a wardrobe staple for years to come.
Size | I ordered this dress in a size 4 and it definitely fits true to size. I could have gone up a size to a 6 but since I put on a few pounds recently I really didn’t want to chance it being loose at all since it IS fit and flare. If you are well endowed in the bust area and fall between dress sizes, I would highly suggest selecting the larger of the two.
Shipping | The dress arrived pretty fast, it was shipped via DHL within a few days of my shipment confirmation. I was surprised by how fast it came because it was an international shipment. I thought it was going to take much longer because the dresses are customizable which means they’re made to order. I was worried it would take really long but it didn’t. I got the notification that it was shipped about a week after I placed my order.
How I Wore It | It’s still a little chilly in New York so I wore a black cardigan over it. I added a leather braided belt I thrifted back in 2012 for $2.99 (read about it here) and threw on some pumps that have navy, the same cognac color as the belt and some other neutrals. To finish it all off I added my signature red lip – Stila’s beso I got at a NYC Birchbox event (read about it here) – and a statement necklace I picked up last year from Ebay for $7.50 (read about it here). Easy.
I’m really happy with my Amelia dress. I can’t wait to style it some more ways. If you sign up on the eshakti website, you can save $40 on your order for a limited time (normally it’s $25). If you’ve ordered from eshakti.com, let me know what you picked up! What’s your favorite dress style? What do you think of the look?
Thank you so much eshakti.com for this amazing dress!
